When you are planning a garden project, you will have a lot of questions. We hope to answer some of the more commonly asked questions here but please don’t hesitate to get in contact to discuss any queries you may have.
We work on a large variety of different scale projects and consider every enquiry but we may not always be a suitable fit. The best thing to do is to get in touch and talk to us! We would love to hear about your outdoor space.
Garden projects that start with a good clear design are the most enjoyable to deliver. We think they are also the most successful in both the short and long term. The relatively small investment made in a garden design helps avoid any ambiguity around costs, construction and looks.
With a design, there are no need for estimates; we price to the exact specification of the garden. You will receive a fully itemised quotation for works with a detailed schedule of activities.
Our design fees for a hand drawn 2D sketch starts at £195 + VAT. Our 3D service starts at £497.00 + VAT.
Your first consultation with us is free. Depending on the scope and size of the project, additional consultation fees may apply. We will include these in our quotations in advance.
Yes, the designs are yours to keep. If we would like to use the design for our marketing purposes, we will ask for your permission in advance.
Every project is designed to fit your budget. We ask you to think about your budget right at the start and to share this with us. We can then create a garden or outdoor space that fits within your budget.
Your budget could feel like an uncomfortable thing for you to discuss. But having conversations about budgets early on can save a lot of time and avoid any disappointment later on in the process.
Every project and owner is unique and have different requirements. Understanding your budget early on will also help us understand if your ideas or requirements are realistic.
We are very transparent and experienced, and will always try to suggest more cost-effective solutions to make the project work for you.
We advise that you check whether your project will require planning approval from your local council’s planning department before going ahead.
In general, landscaping works don’t need planning permission but listed properties and properties in conservation areas will need permission. And in some other circumstances such as the change of a front garden to a hard-standing on which to park cars, the planners will need to approve your plans.
The time that a garden project takes depends on many things. The complexity of the design and site, the availability of the materials and plants selected and the weather for example. We will always give you a start date and details of how long we think your project will take.
It is worth noting that as a service-based business, we are typically booked up 4 to 6 months in advance but we do try and offer an efficient service and a quick turnaround time. We recommend asking about timescales when making your initial enquiry. A member of our team will be able to advise you on current lead times. Always make clear any hard stop dates by when your project must be complete.
This depends on the size, scale and complexity of your garden design. In our initial consultation we will ask how much time you want to dedicate to maintaining the garden yourself. We can either design and build the garden accordingly or help you with one of our maintenance plans.
